Designed by Alvar Aalto in 1932 for Artek, Armchair 42 (also known as Small Paimio) is a very simple yet elegant design piece made without straight lines, using bent plywood as material. Together with other Aalto timeless design pieces in this #100iconicdesigns challenge, it was designed for the Paimio Sanatorium. Armchair 42 is available in lacquered black or white and is still on sale today.
