Day 075/100

Designed by Sapper and Zanuso in 1965 for the a department of Siemens in Italy, Grillo was revolutionary at the time for its design and shape. Grillo is a flip phone that opens as soon as it’s picked up. This clam-shell design influenced mobile phones in the 90s. Grillo (Italian for cricket) is named after its ringer in the wall plug, whose sound resembles the one of a cricket.
